For this role specifically, we are seeking individuals to help support high-impact, civic tech within the federal government.

As an integral part of the program, the UI/UX Designer will help us understand our customers' business challenges and design a product vision that helps meet those needs. Our UI/UX Designer work with stakeholders, customers, and our agile development teams via user research, interviews, focus groups, and incorporates all their various and sometimes competing needs into a single user experience. They work with the development team to ensure that what the user eventually sees is something that will make their work easier.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and conduct design sprints, end-user research, usability testing, and reviews; analyze user data; and create intuitive UI/UX designs.
  • Provide specialized expertise in the design and layout of graphical user interfaces, particularly, screen layouts and functionality for client-server applications (e.g., Microsoft Windows presentation screens).
  • Conduct studies, testing and evaluation of screen prototypes for functionality, ease of use, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Has experience designing user experiences for new and existing web-based applications from concept to completion.
  • Has experience designing workflows and experiences that are intuitive, effective, and accessible.
  • Communicates ideas effectively through low and high fidelity mockups.
  • Can design both a short term and long term UI/UX vision for products.'
  • Thinks critically through complicated challenges to formulate solutions and collaborate with developers and analysts to implement approved designs.
  • May mentor and supervise other team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, innovative, flexible, resilient, and receptive to critique and feedback.
  • Well-organized and able to handle multiple assignments and ability to work effectively (independently and/or within teams) across functional areas in a collaborative environment.
  • Must be able to get up-to-speed quickly on new projects and technologies
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Salary Information

We are committed to offering a competitive salary for this position, with an estimated range of $85k to $125k annually. Please note that this range is intended to provide a general idea of what to expect. The final offer may vary based on experience, skills, and other factors.
