Description:

Night Shift Registered Nurse Opportunity

Schedule & Requirements

• Night shifts: 7pm - 7am
  
• Every other weekend and holiday rotations
  
• 2 on-call shifts per 4-week period
  
• Must be comfortable floating to ICU/ER/MS/MST
  
• Cross-training required for multiple units (med/surg, ICU, ER)
  
• MUST be able to work through the holiday season
  

License Requirements

• Currently licensed by NYS as a registered professional nurse
  
• BSN degree required
  
• Critical care experience required
  

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, PALS required through AHA or the RQI system during clinical orientation
  
• NIHSS certification required
  
• Basic Coronary Care within 6 months of hire
  
• CPI certification within 90 days of hire
  

Preferred Certifications

• Certification by the Emergency Nurses Association is recommended within 2 years of hire
  
• TNCC recommended within 2 years of hire
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  
• Ability to deal with people in a professional and courteous manner
  
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  
• Enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling
  
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills
  
• Computer literacy
  
• Two years experience floating to med surg/ICU/ER
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Microsoft Office products
  
• Electronic medical record experience

Patient Care Requirements

• Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on assigned unit
  
• Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span
  
• Possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs
  
• Provide the care needed by pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient groups
