Are you ready to dive into both software development and systems engineering? NS2 Mission is looking for a talented Software and Systems Developer to join our team in Chantilly, VA.

The environment is fast-paced and dynamic and maintains a network, records system, and other analytical applications to collect and analyze data on the business operations. The goal is to improve the integrity and usability of data collected during day-to-day operations through the development of software systems.

The Developer will provide support specializing in the development and maintenance of software that extracts, transforms, and loads data from various data formats into data models, while also ensuring these capabilities are appropriately secured. The Contractor will work as part of a data engineering team that collaborates closely with operations officers, analysts, and external engineers to gather requirements and refine systems.

Responsibilities include:

• Assessing and validating development requirements across the Sponsor’s organization.
• Developing software to extract, transform, and load data.
• Helping architect and implement a framework for ETL processes.
• Assessing and validating system integration requirements across the Sponsor’s organization.
• Providing Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support for the Sponsor’s data-related software systems.
• Refining and maintaining cyber data models.

Required Skills:

• 3 years of experience designing or implementing Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) pipelines.
• 5 years of experience as a senior software/systems architect.
• 5 years of experience working with cross-functional teams.
• 5 years of experience designing or implementing interfaces between disparate systems.
• 8 years of experience designing or implementing web applications and REST APIs.
• 10 years of experience building software using Object Oriented Programming (OOP) principles (preferred experience with Java and/or Python).
• 5 years of experience designing and developing cloud architectures in the Sponsor’s environment.

Desired Skills:

• 3 years of DevOps experience leveraging infrastructure-as-code tools such as CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Terraform, and/or Ansible.
• 10 years of experience building software using OOP principles (preferred experience with Java and/or Python).
• 3 years of experience with Linux systems administration and monitoring.
• 3 years of experience with NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB and Elasticsearch.
• 3 years of experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript UI frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.
• 3 years of experience supporting requirements gathering with this customer.
• 3 years of experience implementing and building systems with this customer.
