The opportunity

Altruist is in the midst of an exceptional growth phase, and we're excited to hire a Senior Front End Engineer to join our growing Middle Office team! This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building internal tools in a low-code environment and thrives on collaborating with cross-functional partners to deliver thoughtful, scalable solutions that drive operational efficiency.

Your impact
  • Work with product, design, and business teams to clearly understand requirements and turn them into technical design
  • Present designs to the technology team with clear breakdowns of tasks and deliverables
  • Lead with engineering best practices and make decisions based on definable metrics
  • Define the architecture for systems with a clear vision for both short- and long-term business needs
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, autonomy, and open communication across teams
  • Coach and mentor junior developers and take responsibility for meeting deadlines for your team's deliverables
  • Uphold strong levels of integrity for accuracy, data quality, and uptime - we are dealing with real people's money, and we take that seriously
What you bring
  • Experience - 5+ years of work experience building highly scalable and intuitive front ends for B2B, B2C or consumer-facing web applications.
  • Education - Ideally looking for a B.A. / B.S. degree in computer science or similar engineering or mathematics fields of study
  • Technical aptitude - You're technologically savvy and can easily get up to speed on modern tech stacks (this team uses Typescript and ReTool on the front end, and Postgres on the backend). You are comfortable writing Javascript as well as complex sql queries.

San Francisco, CA salary range

$170,000-$226,000 USD

Total compensation includes a competitive benefits package along with equity in the form of Stock Options (ISOs) for eligible roles.
