Medical Billing and Coding Specialist - Job Responsibilities:
As a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist, you will be the crucial link between the healthcare provider, patients, and insurance companies. Your day-to-day duties will include:
Properly code medical services, procedures, and treatments.
Create and send invoices and claims for payment.
Investigate and resolve denied claims.
Follow up with patients and insurance companies on outstanding balances.
Collect and post payments from patients and insurance.
Advise and train staff on medical coding best practices.
Keep up to date with coding and compliance changes.
Assist with other billing projects as needed.
Medical Billing and Coding Specialist - Qualifications and Skills:
CPC (Certified Professional Coder) license is required.
At least 2 - 4 years experience minimum
Proven experience in a medical coding and billing role.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and billing procedures.
Comfortable using electronic health record (EHR) software.
Excellent attention to detail.
Good communication skills.
