Job Title: Health & Safety Manager

Duration: 6 Months

Location: Onsite – Lincoln, NE 68507

Pay Rate: $40–$45/hr.

Seeking a dedicated Health & Safety (H&S) Manager to support facility safety initiatives and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards. This onsite role reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for leading and supporting safety programs at the assigned facility or facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with plant leadership to execute and monitor the site’s Safety Action Plan.
• Provide consistent safety leadership, guidance, mentoring, and training across the facility.
• Advise site leadership and management on safety progress and areas needing additional focus.
• Foster a strong safety culture through engagement, influence, and leadership.
• Conduct regular evaluations of health and safety programs through audits and monitoring activities.
• Communicate regulatory and company safety requirements clearly and help ensure proper implementation.
• Promote proactive safety measures using key leading indicators tracked through a Safety Management Index.
• Ensure accurate safety reporting within the company’s safety management system.
• Champion employee involvement in safety initiatives, including behavior-based safety programs.
• Lead or actively participate in incident investigations and manage injured worker cases.
• Provide support to nearby facilities as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; significant experience may substitute for education.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an environmental health and safety role, or a relevant degree.
• Experience with public speaking and delivering safety presentations.
• Strong computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office; ability to learn internal systems quickly.
• Skilled in hazard recognition, risk assessment, and implementing effective controls.
• Willingness to travel occasionally, sometimes on short notice.
• Comfortable working in varied environments including extreme indoor and outdoor conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods.
