Job Description

A full-time Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) opportunity is available for the 25/26 school year to provide essential support within a K-12 educational setting. This contract position is itinerant, serving students across all grade levelskindergarten through 12th gradein a school located in Estancia, NM. The role involves working collaboratively alongside the district Occupational Therapist (OT) to deliver effective occupational therapy services to students.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting the district OT with therapy assessments and interventions for students in grades K-12
• Delivering direct occupational therapy support tailored to individual student needs
• Managing an itinerant caseload while traveling between schools or classrooms as necessary
• Collaborating with educational staff to integrate therapy strategies within the learning environment
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state regulations

Required qualifications and experience:

• Current New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) certification as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)
• Experience providing occupational therapy services in school settings
• Ability to manage an itinerant caseload effectively across multiple grade levels (K-12)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with therapists, educators, and families
