We provide: Comprehensive health benefits that start day 1 Student Loan Repayment Assistance & Reimbursement Programs Family-focused benefits Wellness incentives Ongoing mentorship, development, and leadership programs And more Work Location: Atlanta, GA (Position is hybrid, report onsite 3 days per week, including Wednesdays; remote 2 days) Description A data scientist, a high-level individual contributor, will be collaborating with cross-functional teams Lead and coordinate data-driven efforts across different departments or disciplines Effective communication, adaptability, and a strong understanding of both technical and business aspects are essential Strategic Planning: work with stakeholders to understand data needs and align analytics initiatives with organizational goals; develop a strategic vision for data analysis Data Governance and Quality Assurance: establish governance policies to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security; collaborate to maintain high-quality data pipelines Cross-Functional Collaboration: facilitate communication between teams; translate business requirements into data tasks Project Management: lead cross-functional projects related to data analysis, reporting, and insights; define scope, timelines, and deliverables Data Exploration and Visualization: explore large datasets (e.g., electronic health records such as EPIC; decision support systems like EPSi, StrataJazz) and create visualizations Statistical Analysis and Modeling: apply statistical techniques and collaborate on predictive models Change Management and Training: support organizational change and train team members on data tools and methods Other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred At least 5 years of experience in healthcare or data analytics At least 2 years of experience with payor companies or healthcare systems At least 2 years of experience with relational databases Proficient in SQL and at least one other programming language (e.g., Python, R, SAS) Experience in statistical modeling, machine learning, AI Excellent presentation skills Experience in strategic planning and workflow optimization Mentor and coach the broader analytic team and service line operation leaders Preferred Qualifications EPIC certification or experience with Epic Clarity data Experience in Strata or similar decision support systems Management experience Agile experience Judgement Leads a team Helps develop and implement solutions and analytics strategy Manages customer relationships and communicates results to sponsors and senior audiences Guides decision-making through data-driven recommendations Emory is an equal opportunity employer.
