We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a travel assignment in a Long Term Care (LTC) setting located in beautiful Seward, Alaska . This opportunity is ideal for a CNA with prior travel experience who is passionate about providing compassionate care to geriatric patients, including those with Alzheimer's, Dementia, and psychological behaviors.

Schedule

  • Shift Options:

    • Night: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM

    • Day: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
      (4 shifts/week; 12-hour shifts)

  • Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2-week period

  • Assignment Length: 13 or 26 weeks (traveler's choice)

  • Holiday Coverage: Must be available to work at least 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)

  • Block Scheduling: Not available

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, grooming, and mobility

  • Monitor and document vital signs and report changes in condition

  • Perform patient hygiene and skin care, including perineal and mouth care

  • Use medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts, glucometers, oxygen tanks, and pulse oximeters

  • Ensure infection control practices, PPE use, and safety protocols

  • Provide emotional and psychological support to residents

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure patient well-being

  • Maintain a clean and safe patient environment

Required Qualifications

  • License:

    • Valid CNA license in any U.S. state

    • Alaska CNA license preferred (or proof of pending application)

      • If pending, candidate must provide documentation of:

        • License application submission

        • Application fee payment

        • Fingerprints submitted

        • Education and license verifications

  • Certifications:

    • BLS (Basic Life Support) Required

Required Experience

  • Minimum Experience:

    • 6+ months CNA experience required

    • 1 year of experience preferred

  • Travel Experience:

    • Previous travel CNA experience required

  • LTC Experience:

    • Required must have experience in Long Term Care or Skilled Nursing settings

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with dementia, Alzheimer's, and TBI patients

  • Familiarity with infection control procedures and isolation precautions

  • Experience using patient mobility equipment (Hoyer lifts, Skylifts)

  • Knowledge of abnormal vs. normal vital signs in adult and geriatric patients

  • Strong reporting and communication skills

Work Requirements

  • Willingness to float within scope as needed

  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required

  • Local candidates not accepted (must reside >50 miles from facility)

Additional Notes

  • Vehicle Use:
    Facility-provided vehicle available during assignment (must provide valid driver's license and proof of insurance). Vehicle intended for local use only.

  • Time Off (RTO):
    Max 1 week for 13-week contracts; max 2 weeks for 26-week contracts
    All time off must be submitted at time of application
