Business Tax Accountant - Work From Home

If you are highly motivated, with business tax preparation experience and excellent communication skills, we need you to assist our customers in completing their taxes using TurboTax Business products.

The successful candidate will manage complex business tax returns for Partnerships and S Corporations. A strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations, along with significant experience in preparing and filing business and personal tax returns, is essential.

What you'll bring

• At least 3 years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) for a minimum of 20 clients per season using commercial tax software.
• Minimum of 2 seasons of personal tax preparation experience, with at least 30 returns per year, preferred.
• Availability to work at least 20 hours per week across three or more days.
• Bookkeeping experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience preparing business tax returns for service industry clients is strongly preferred.
• Ability to obtain any necessary state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds.
• Active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
• Knowledge of Circular 230.
• Proficiency with technology and software.
• Strong customer service skills and professional interaction through video and audio tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Critical thinking, problem-solving, research skills, and determination.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable internet connection meeting security criteria.
• Residency in the United States.

How you will lead

• This is a virtual, customer-facing role utilizing our advanced video communication software (Smartlook).
• Assist TurboTax Business customers with:

- Tax advice

- Full-service business return preparation and signing

- Product/software inquiries

- Tax calculations

- Filing tax extensions

• Create high-quality interactions that build customer confidence through empathy and your expertise in business tax and accounting.
• Use government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to find accurate answers, communicating in clear, everyday language.
• Follow established practices, procedures, and policies to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues.
• Document all customer interactions thoroughly.
• Work towards meeting company KPIs and strategic goals.
• Participate in pilot testing, projects, and validation activities as needed.
